Therapy Intensives in Newton, Kansas
Four-hour Therapy Intensives give busy professionals dedicated time to work through a specific challenge without fitting therapy into a weekly schedule.
Some things are hard to work through 50 minutes at a time.
Weekly therapy can be a good fit for ongoing support and skill-building.
But sometimes you want uninterrupted time to focus on one specific issue.
Just as you begin getting somewhere, a weekly session can be over. Then you return to work, family, and everything else demanding your attention.
A Therapy Intensive creates protected time to stay with the work longer.
Instead of repeatedly stopping and starting, you have several focused hours to explore what’s happening, understand the patterns beneath it, process what needs attention, and practice new ways to respond.
Intensive means focused, not overwhelming.
I’m Marilyn Rosa, a licensed therapist who believes understanding yourself matters, but knowing what to do with that understanding matters too.
This isn’t four hours of nonstop talking. The work is paced intentionally. There is warmth, breaks, and time to process.
We grow trust as we go, and I pay attention to what you need throughout the day.
The goal is to give you enough uninterrupted time to do meaningful work without rushing the process.

1.
Prepare
We’ll begin with a consultation and a detailed intake so I can understand what you’re facing and what you want to accomplish.
Before your intensive, I’ll create a personalized treatment plan and workbook around your goals.
How it works:
2.
Focus
Your intensive includes four hours of focused therapy, divided between morning and afternoon sessions with a lunch break in between.
Using concepts from CBT, DBT, and ACT, we’ll work through your specific challenge with a structure built around you.
3.
Forward
You’ll leave with a summary and personal workbook to help you continue applying what you learned.
We’ll also meet for a follow-up session to check in and reinforce the work you started.
Make space to create momentum.
You spend a lot of time handling what needs your attention: Your work, responsibilities, and the people who depend on you. A Therapy Intensive gives you dedicated time to turn that attention toward yourself.
